If you thought Central
Lancashire Business Club was a recent addition to the
local business community then you would be wrong.
It was originally
formed in 1984 as The
Chorley and South Ribble Business Club. The Club was rebranded in
2007 to help us open our membership up to more businesses throughout
the Lancashire area.
The Club is funded by subscriptions and run by
members, for members. This enables it to operate independently
although strong links with Local Enterprise Agencies, Business
Link, the Small
Business Service and Local Colleges are actively maintained.
Membership
is open to, small to medium enterprises, micro businesses, people
starting out in business and larger organisations, in fact
all types and sizes of business based in and around Central
Lancashire.
The Club recognises that in some circumstance
it can be a lonely existence being self-employed, especially if
you work from home,
so a number of social events are organised during the year. Included
in our annual programme are a Wine Tasting, Christmas Dinner and
a Ten Pin Bowling Event, all of which enhance the friendly atmosphere
of the Club.
Our monthly meetings generally have a guest speaker, followed by
an opportunity for questions and sometimes a ’workshop‘ on
the topic. Subjects are wide and varied and have included finance,
marketing, purchasing and first aid.
Members are also encouraged
to present their own business at our members nights, and every
new member is invited to introduce their
business at their first meeting.
We try to provide a forum for
members to network, discuss matters affecting their business
and benefit from the knowledge of a
wide variety of speakers.
We look forward to seeing you. |
