About Us

Central Lancashire Business Club has a long and illustrious history. We have been providing a fun and supportive networking and social environment for members of the business community in the Leyland, Chorley and Preston area for over 30 years!

Originally formed in 1984 as The Chorley Business Club, we soon expanded to become the Chorley and South Ribble Business Club, and eventually
rebranded as the Central Lancashire Business Club in 2007 to help us open our membership up to more businesses throughout the Lancashire area. This followed the disbanding of the Preston Business Club when several of their old members came to join us.

The CLBC is funded by subscriptions and run by members, for the benefit members. This enables it to operate independently although strong links with Local Enterprise Agencies, Business Link, Orvia, the Small Business Service and Local Colleges are all actively maintained.

Membership is open to, small to medium enterprises, micro businesses, people starting out in business and larger organisations, in fact all types and sizes of business based in and around Central Lancashire.

Being self-employed can sometimes be a lonely existence, especially if you work from home, so we organise a number of social events throughout the year. Included in our annual programme are an annual  Wine Tasting event and Christmas Dinner - as well as our monthly member networking meetings, which are generally held on the 1st Tuesday of each month.

Our monthly meetings generally have a guest speaker, followed by an opportunity for questions and sometimes a ’workshop‘ on the topic. Subjects are wide and varied and have included finance, marketing, purchasing and first aid. Members are also encouraged to present their own business at our members nights, and every new member is invited to introduce their business at their first meeting.

We try to provide a forum for members to network, discuss matters affecting their business and benefit from the knowledge of a wide variety of speakers. The benefits of membership also include a monthly free business card draw, in which members attending the meeting can win a voucher for £25 off the services of any other member (reclaimable by the providing member from the club) and a listing in our online members directory, which includes backlinks to your website and social profiles from our website.

At the time of this update annual membership is just £25 per company, enabling all employees to attend our friendly networking meetings and offering a useful business profile on this website.
